And on the other side of the coin, as vital stories like these are ignored or buried, we are faced with an unprecedented wave of bald-faced propaganda and utterly ridiculous conspiracy theories, pushed by a network of TV "news" outlets, websites, and talk radio. Political candidates who openly advocate the Q Anon conspiracy theory that the world is controlled by an invisible, secret society of baby-blood-drinking elites get elected to Congress. An unpopular president loses re-election, and 2/3 of his party believes it was stolen, in spite of absolutely no evidence of fraud. These same people deem a worldwide pandemic to be a hoax cooked up to steal their freedom.
I suspect that a similar number would call the stories listed in this article "fake news", regardless of evidence.
